Charm on Peninsula Point

Barclay and I with the help of our highly organized Associate Designer Kristin Morris, were lucky to receive a call from Waterpointe Homes Garrett Calacci to furnish a gorgeous Cape Cod soft contemporary home on Ocean Blvd down on Peninsula Point.  Allison (Allie) Kincheloe Marie Interiors had already specified all the materials…  Carrera honed marble, Belgium oak floors, oil rubbed bronze hardware mixed with polished chrome pulls and knobs (swoon!)   It was a symphony of great architecture and design and all we needed to do was give it some Barclay Butera blue and white pizazz!

We looked no further than our own Westcliff Drive Showroom.  All the pieces on the showroom floor seemed to be the perfect fit.  The white linen Thompson sofa with a generous flat arm lends extra seating for four legged guests as well as 2 Saint Tropez chairs and a mirrored cocktail table to reflect the glow of the fireplace in the Great Room.

The dining space got some attitude with a cement and oak farm table.  Our Capri dining host chairs in Barclay Butera for Kravet stripped fabric add a touch of beachy charm while Havana woven side chairs scream beach chic.  White and gray cabinets and Carrera marble kitchen counters are the perfect foil to all the texture of the great room.

It only gets better as you climb the stairs to the second floor with a master suite to rival any 5-star hotel, 2 more beach-view bedrooms, a very roomy laundry room, and an activity room which we envisioned with 4 comfy chairs for conversation, social media, or a game of Settlers of Catan (fun!)

The 3rd floor, with a spacious roof top ocean view deck, was our most inspired space!  We wanted a ping pong table… But what Calacci envisioned took it to the next level.  Not only a ping pong table but a glass and steel stunner he had just played at Fashion Island shop Travis Matthews.  He called, and he bought the last one available.  We hired Cal’s Cranes and lifted it to the 3rd floor, all this done in 24 hours, now that’s design-on-the-fly!  Throughout the design process, all parties agreed to keep the home simple and straight forward.  We added some surf boards to our clean blue and white palette but kept it crisp and clean for the future owners.
