West Hollywood, California
I let a witty combination of animal print take center stage throughout this two-bedroom apartment; whether it was brandished on the carpets, dining chairs, bedding, or throw pillows it made a bold and exciting statement. The daring red and purple color palette in the living room was anchored by a sophisticated tufted white linen sofa and to create balance in the space, I kept the bedrooms restrained with warm chocolate and camel tones. By mixing black and white portraits of pop-culture icons with Slim Aarons photographs and an Andy Warhol painting, I was able to further capture the spirit of the rock and roll and Hollywood scene. The striking gold trimmed book cases, mirrored-top chests and pops of Union Jack provided just the right jolt of style and glam while the soothing outdoor garden gave an air of reprieve to this chic and stylish urban domain.
