A West Hollywood Pied-a-Terre by Barclay Butera

This chic pied-a-terre in West Hollywood had California interior designer Barclay Buterataking a distinctive rock ‘n’ roll-meets-old Hollywood-glamour approach. During the process of design and conceptualizing, Butera wondered: If Mick Jagger and the Rolling Stones had a place to hang their hats when in town, what would it look like? The result: red-hot walls contrasted with deep purple velvet and plenty of animal prints—they’re Butera’s signature—along with original Getty Images of stars from the Golden Age of Hollywood. The apartment is part of a historic building that was long ago divided into individual units, which have housed legendary stars including George Clooney, John Travolta, Quentin Tarantino, and Ian Astbury of The Cult. Rumor also has it that Clark Gable and Marilyn Monroe were both put up in the building before or during the filming of The Misfits, the last film for both. If these walls could only talk!
